Purpose of talk, 1) to bridge the gap between Christians and non christian that are working for good on the planet through awareness and cooperation2) to help permaculturalists understand how to talk to christians about permaculture by understanding their language and world view, and why, and 3) to remind Christians of our most important purpose here now.  75%-80% of Americans claim to be some form of Christian, 3.3 billion people on the Earth, over 30%.  If Christian backyards, Churches, and missions, and orphanages had elements of Permaculture, Food forests, training centers, The earth could be restored, and the people fed, enjoying the glory of God in his creation! 

It is important to understand the perspective or language even if you don't agree nor believe, Jesus said he didn't come to judge those that don't believe in him but to free them.   Belief happens after a personal need for a savior, an open heart to it, and God coming to you to bring you to him for use in the Kingdom. It's a love affair and a personal embetterment proccess, not a guilt trip. 

Judgement as a rift: Many people stay away from christians because of feeling judged, but over and over we are taught to not judge, which is to see someone as useless or unworthy, but to help, Jesus hung out with all the sinners afterall and God made use of the broken, that was me. We are told to do good works, but we are not saved by that, only by grace. Grace heals and restores to be able to return to good works...Believers are NOT to judge non-believers. Most people that claim to be Christian because they love Christ are all in the process somewhere between to pull of wordly desires and the divine lifestyle serving God. Forgiveness and love is the cornerstone of christs message to us all. “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you".

Disclaimer: I've been on both sides,  from an anti-religious seeker of the divine and to fulfill my purpose on earth to a believer to assist in transformation of the planet to the goals sought out in permaculture as a method to restore the Kingdom, creation in god harmony, peace and joy. I am presenting the problems and solutions I have found in both perspectives to solve deep conflict. If we view certain people as the problem, the solution is awareness of their motivators, and finding solutions from the source of thinking. "And Forgive them for they know not what they do."-Jesus,

Perspective of world view is important:  Forgiveness through repentance (observation and feedback, small adjustments=righteousness= right useness.-forgiveness, return to grace of God, good works vs  destruction. I will speak from the Christian world view in hopes that you might be able to have insight into it, Please translate terms to reach the same understanding. God is referred to as the father, but you can think It, the great IAM, The divine presence, the Matrix of life, God the general organizing directive, Then you might need to stretch your mind a bit to understand the trinity, that God is also represented in the father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, the still small voice, the intuition based voice of god, the bringer if the divine presence. To a Christian, God takes forms as these and lives through all of creation, all that is in nature. It is a mystical experience that christians have (like a divine download), that gives a mystical experience of this, that creates a willingness to believe because the dynamics of such are experienced. It is beyond reason. that Jesus lived as one with that, came from that, so as to remind humans what they are really made of, not just beasts after pleasures of the flesh, but flesh made in the immage of God, for the purpose of acting Godly and stewarding God's kingdom with the power of God.

The stories of the bible lead us through the myriad of stories of the pittfals of man, the wrath of God  when humans didnt behave nor respect god and creation, and the pardon through Jesus to release humans to "free will" to choose to do good works, by the strength of love of Christ ,the saving grace, enjoy the family in Christ and the kingdom of the Garden or Earth, otherwise to choose behaviors that lead one into hurt, pain, corruption, low self- esteem, broken lives and families,  and is contrary to life and love. Sin means Missing the mark, and the bible makes one aware of the many behavours that miss the mark, the consequences, and how to start in the mind with the better thoughts for a life enjoying the treasures of the kingdom and the love of God and each other. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

Realize the challenges for christians to walk a Godly life (serving God by caring for his creations) in a world so into self indulgence and comfort and convenience, no one is free from sin. But the transformation is through grace of the gift of christ at the cross to lay your sins down, be forgiven, and return to God. Personal guilt is really disabling.  they find forgiveness to go on and better themselves through the directions given in the Word. It is a transformative process and everyone is on that path somewhere between brokenness or wholeness +holiness. Christians are taught not to judge, that it is Go'ds job, not ours. Ours is to walk, be and act as Jesus would have us,, united with god,  to keep the kingdom healthy and in Joy. They accept that the bible is inspired by God for the benefit of all to restore a fallen world. It is fruitless to argue with scripture, but all powerful for christians to prove your point by quoting it. That is what bible study if for, to have greater understanding of better lifestyle choices through understanding it. In Permaculture we restore the systems and species as God provided and let them interact and thrive, without our having to toil for food, Vs God instructing Joseph to store away food because famine is coming upon the land. So, in my opinion, restore Gods gardens and food forests and store up for the coming famine. We may not be feeling it here yet, but apocolyptic proportions of famine and human strife are already around the globe. With our positioning for the dollar to fail, or for the toxic levels to affect all, the climactic changes, and governmental corporate corruption in our legal system, (watch Farmageadon). WE have been well warned to store up resources for ourselves, families, and communities.  Christians are the first resopnders in communities to meet the needs on a large scale for all, christians or not, We need to help them to store up the storehouses, plant the fruit trees. The more fruit trees and perennial edibles your area has the better. We were actually designed to be able to survive on greens and fruits.  Fruits and vegies can store, cellar, and greens, in four season greenhouses, greens can be kept all winter.

This was in reference to idol worshipping people and sexual promiscuity rampant in the time.(if you read the pssage in context.  It had absolutely no intention towards nature but the created refering to man.  (football, stars) Secondly, love for, purpose for, and care of the earth is not a form of worship nor is calling the earthlife GAia, idol worship by religious ceremony, we were made to care for earth and animals as god himself would.

call to genesis/ revelation Make  no mistake: Human beings are the crowning jewel of God's

creation. But  avoid the mistake of anthropocentrism--the sin of human pride--that  concludes that human beings are the only jewel in the crown. The crown  of creation has many jewels, including the non-human and material world.  Even mountains praise God (Ps. 148) and trees clapped their hands for  God (Isa. 55).

"Rest for the land" suggests pragmatically the need to protect the earth from maltreatment.

From  the opening pages of the Bible, the message is that human beings have  responsibility to care for the non-human creation. Naming animals  represents responsibility for them (Gen. 2:19-20). Being told to serve  and guard the garden represents another form of responsibility (Gen.  2:15).         

Keep calm because Christians are chosen by God to be firstfruits, to be the first signs and  harbingers of God’s kingdom and rule, even in the midst of a fallen world of trials and destruction.

       Diversity:The answer to divisions in the church is the cross by which (i) Jesus reconciled all things to himself (Colossians 1:19-21) and put to death the hostility that exists between us; (ii) where we receive forgiveness, peace, togetherness, and renewal; and (iii) where united we worship the creator who redeemed us from every nation, people, tribe and tongue. Lord Jesus, may it be so with us, unity in diversity, on earth as it is in heaven!
